Bridging Gaps: Fostering Awareness, Support, and Unity for Veterans

Why is it important to share veterans’ events, celebrations, and meetings and how the community supports our veterans? Sharing veterans’ events, celebrations, meetings, and community support initiatives is crucial for fostering a culture of appreciation and support. It strengthens the bond between veterans and their communities and ensures they receive the recognition and assistance they deserve.

Firstly:

  • Recognition and Gratitude: Sharing these events allows the community to recognize and express gratitude towards veterans for their service and sacrifice. It’s a way to honor their commitment to protecting and preserving the country’s freedoms.
  • Awareness: By sharing veterans’ events and activities, the community becomes more aware of veterans’ challenges. Challenges include transitioning to civilian life, accessing healthcare, or finding employment. Awareness leads to increased support and resources for veterans.

Furthermore:

  • Unity and Solidarity: Veterans’ events unite community members, veterans, and their families, fostering a sense of unity and solidarity. It shows that the community stands with its veterans and supports them in their endeavors.
  • Networking and Support: Moreover, events allow veterans to connect with organizations offering support services. Networking within the veteran community is valuable for sharing experiences, finding resources, and building friendships.

Moreover:

  • Education: Veterans’ events often include educational components, such as workshops on mental health, job training programs, or information sessions about veterans’ benefits. The community shares these events to help educate veterans and their families about available resources and support.
  • Inspiration: Thus, sharing stories of veterans’ achievements, resilience, and societal contributions can inspire others. Younger generations are inspired to serve their country or to support those who have served.

    ARMY VETERAN-TURNED-ARTIST

    PETER FASANO’S CREATIONS

EXHIBITED IN SANTA FE CITY HALL

A Vietnam veteran living in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Peter Fasano currently displays his work at Santa Fe City Hall, approaching the Council Chambers.

After his discharge from the army, he embarked on a journey into painting and working with multiple media. He accidentally stumbled into the business of creating and selling hand-silk screens, hand-painted fabrics, and wall coverings. The result was to successfully showcase his business’s establishment in fifteen U.S. states and various other countries.

Fasano is an abstract, minimalist artist. He actively invites viewers to immerse themselves in his distinctive perspective. His art illuminates how he transitioned from military service to artistic self-expression, offering insight into his evolving creativity.

    From Fasano’s Heart:

My life has always seemed to revolve around lines, grids and repetition. Abstract art is my North Star. I have been working on a variety of substrates, including joss paper, scratch board, aqua board, using pencil, ink and watercolor. With Elizabeth Hamilton, my wife and business partner of 45 years, I don’t think I’ve ever been happier in my life.” – PETER FASANO.
